Sometimes I ask myself why life is so hard on us. I thought I can skip this question for a while, but no this uncertainty just pop up today.

News of Peter’s misfortune hit me hard. I got a call from his wife. Her shimmering voice sends shivers down my spine.

Sometimes, I conjecture what is Life?

What is the connotation of Life? I tried and tired to reminiscence what I learnt during my Dharma Class. Nevertheless, I can’t recall any. Why can’t I recall any?

Is life really that meaningless? Why does heaven needs to be that unsympathetic on us? Why? What wrong have we done? What erroneous has Peter done to make him go through this?

He has a successful career, a beautiful wife and a loving family. Why does he have to meet this adversity?

Is it all about karma? Why Karma always has its spell on those who are kind and good?

I don’t know. I’m really tired out. I lost my mood today. I really lost my mood today. I had lost my friends to traffic accident, SQ007 catastrophe and illness. I hate all these.

We all shall pray hard for you Peter, we know you have strong will, because you are our main pillar in design and aspiration.

No doubt, I always remember what you have taught and I used it on my work and our works.

Honestly, I cried. I can’t recall how many times I cried. I don’t know.  I really don’t know. I tried to put up a brave front. However, my parents knew who I feel deep inside. They knew how much I respected Pete.

Sorry, Joey, I can’t pull myself together. Sorry Kent, give me sometime and I will pen the proposal by tomorrow morning.

Hey, I should stay strong man! I should be, as we need to rally that spiritual energy and pray for Pete’s speedy recovery and to his wife and family.

There I was…happy and there were butterflies flying in my stomach. She held my hand….!!!She held my hand…!!! Miki, she’s not the normal girls you can find. The most important factor that I fell in her would be her down to earth character. She loves to joke. She’s always at her cheerful self. Never had I seen her down before.

To be honest with you, Miki is my second relationship. Yes, you are right…My first relationship started with a Malaysian girl lasted only 6 months…and we went our separate ways; after knowing that we are just not for each other. Miki was my second. And my third last for a year was with a Malaysian girl as well (This was a painful one…It was my fault, as I nelgect her for that I was totally due to my work…as I wanted to climb up my career path).

She’s the girl who would brighten up my life…I would say that was the most happy moment of my life with her…

However, this does not last for long…4 months into our relationship…I was able to ask her formally to be my steady girlfriend….She broke this news to me….

“Dar…I’m going back to Malaysia for good….My parents sending me overseas for my degree…I can’t stay here….with you…”

That was a bomb-shell falling onto me…

“How long…”

“I don’t know dar…”

“Where are you going…”

“UK”

“….I……..never mind….”

“…will you wait for me?”

“…yes I will….”

The entire mood for that day just crash…IT just CRASH on me…..!!!! I wasn’t in the mood anymore…

She left for Malaysia a week later…and later to UK

I haven’t got the chance to get her number…I call her brother…and he doesn’t have her contact as well…..

She’s reading resource management…and I know she’s trying very hard to adjust to the life there in UK….

4 years has passed….and I met Miki last Wednesday….Can you imagine how shock and happy we were…hearts bouncing so fast that….

We chat for a long time…and she told me that she has not forgetten me for these 4 years….

Good shock I got yesterday . . . I packed up at about half 5 last evening after a long and tiring day roughing out at studio writing an urgent essay due for submission. Never have I ever came to realise that I would meet my long lost friend, Miki . . . Yes, I have not seen Miki for a few years now . . . I first met her while I was at Raffles Link having my lazy afternoon tea with my mates. I noticed this young and pretty girl from far. I had set my sniper scope and her and zoomed into her direction. In my heart, I could hear this voice . . . “Bogey, bearing 090, range 0.1 mile, closing at angels 10 . . .”

Damn, she’s a beauty, really! Yes I agree and I must admit that all my past relationships are with Malaysian girls, at least for 3 serious ones.

Miki was with this guy, and I told myself: “Ha…no chance man…” (I was single then, after broke up with my ex 3 months back).

I overheard that she’s looking for a seat to rest and have tea. My basic instinct told me: “Get your butt up and offer her the empty seats that you have!!”

Yes, my mate and I are occupying a table of 4 seats…Bastards huh? Hahaha…anyway… I stood up and offered her our empty seats. She gladly accepts my offer. Deep down my heart I felt ahem…shiok…of course…!!

Then, she brightens my day…the guy next to her was her brother . . .!!! Hahaha…yes, even heaven is on my side!!! And after which I stroked up a conversation with her, and I got to know that she’s from Malaysia and she’s here in Singapore, helping her brother setting down here.

Sorry mate, if I neglect you that day, obviously you got pissed with me and you got off saying you got something to do…hehehe…thanks brother, if you haven’t done that I would have get to know Miki better. And I would say we didn’t even notice that he brother had excused himself. He notified Miki via SMS telling her that he would meet up with her back at the apartment her parents had rented for them.

Miki, she’s someone so special, so unique that I just can’t get her off my mind. She’s someone that is so lady-like that I just get my eyes off her.

We had our first kiss 2 months after we decided to go steady . . . she’s the one who held mine…she initiated the first move…
